About John
John Drew Markley
John Markley is a writer from Illinois who has been playing video games since he first encountered Galaga on his cousin’s Atari 2600. He later received an NES in elementary school and has been a devoted gamer ever since, with the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PC as his game platforms of choice nowadays. His favorite genres are RPGs, strategy games, shooters, and (back in the late Bronze Age, when they were still being made) space flight sims. His favorite gaming memories include playing Final Fantasy III back on the Super NES, beating the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game with his cousin over and over again, Planescape: Torment, Persona 3 and 4, the Infamous series, Vanquish, and the time a series of “friendly fire” incidents while playing classic NES brawler River City Ransom in two-player mode with his cousin (yes, the same one) erupted into an actual fistfight. He also writes the video game/humor blog Pointless Side Quest and can be found on Twitter (@johnmarkley), Facebook, and Raptr. He also has online IDs on Steam (Agent Flandry) and PlayStation Network (Agent_Flandry).
